Hi Party People,
For over a decade, Good Style Shop has made its success on providing a continuous supply of novelty vintage pieces for Madison’s most adventurous people. The shop is doubling down on that effort by enhancing our seasonal selection this spring. Sure, it’s wet and cold in Madison in February, but cabin fever is best remedied by some aspirational good-weather shopping.
Our collective vendors have been teeming with spring staples— denim cutoffs, crop tops, jean jackets— all year round. However, what’s new this year is our presentation of some anticipated seasonal trends. Puff sleeves! It’s a trend that is sticking around. Designers have sent ruffles and puff sleeves down the runway for the past two spring cycles — see the silhouette in diverse ready-to-wear SS20 collections like McQueen, Rocha, and Mara Hoffman.
However, actual spring 2020 seems to be where the trend hits full tilt. Whether it’s a prairie-style ‘Little Women’-inspired look, or more of a taffeta 1980s prom interpretation, this look brings a certain powerful stance to softer color palettes coming up in the next few months.
Men’s Loungewear
This one is easy to love. A lot of vintage men’s loungewear mimics outerwear— shawl or notched lapels, two-button cuffs, and the self-belt at the waist. It’s an unstructured trench coat made of eye-catching wool flannel or cotton poplin. Add to all that the quality of mid-century manufacturing, and you’ve got a springtime layering jacket people will want to buy off your back.
