Bio: Hi, I’m Pete. Maybe we’ve met before somewhere around town— digging through racks at a garage sale, at the neighborhood bar Robin Room, or most likely, you found me at the shop on East Johnson Street. I hope I was wearing something flashy.
Years ago, I incorporated Good Style Shop months out of college at UW-Madison, totally untrained in business. It was founded on a leap of faith but landed in success due to countless loyal, inspiring customers, local and touring artists searching for an audience, and most of all— the team of vintage sources proudly selling treasure out of this location since 2012. As my other favorite college-town vintage clothing shops struggled to survive in this changing city, I’m proud to say Good Style Shop is still continuing to grow in its tenth year.
Under my leadership, Good Style Shop contributes to area non-profits and individual creative talent in Madison. Past and present fundraising partnerships include Porchlight Madison, Domestic Abuse Intervention Services (DAIS), WORT Community Radio, and MATC’s Fashion Show For All Abilities. Since the shop’s founding, the shop clears its walls to emerging artists, lends wardrobe to undergraduate publications, and invites other small retail businesses to our city with the creation of a Midwest Vintage Flea, a twice-yearly vintage clothing market.
